I put together these pages in 1996 in an effort to help you find what
you are looking for on the net! Now, there are many, many more websites about
diabetes and it's nearly impossible to make stuff easy to find. So here are a few that I have found and organized by topic. I hope you find what you are looking for. If you have any suggestions to add to any topic I have listed, please email it to me. Thanks for visiting.

Kristina has diabetes! She is a wonderful 19 year old girl who has lived with diabetes since she was only 6 months old! Everything I've done here with my diabetes pages, have all been inspired by her! She is my inspiration,
The Wind Beneath My Wings! And I dedicate all my work here to her!! If you click on her name above, it will take you to her story when she was 8 years old. The Insulin Free Times also published her story in the summer of 2000 when she was 10 years old. You can read that HERE. And be sure to see Kristina's LETTER to congressmen about what it's like to live with diabetes also written when she was 10. Kristina has been on an Insulin Pump for 10 years now. You can see how her Start-Up went! I also put pictures of a set change on the page that I thought you'd be interested in!
Now that Kristina is 19, she has completely taken over all of her own care. I let her take what she felt she could as she went through high school. It was a slow process but over time, before she even realized it, she was doing it all herself. As an 18 year old, it got embarassing to go to a pediatric endocrinologist with her mother. So she decided to find an adult diabetes doctor and go herself. She loves being able to talk to him about the things that she worries about rather than what I worry about. The independence came so gradually that it's not too difficult for me to let go. I'm very proud of her.

Collection For The Russian Children
Inspired by Lana's Story about Life in Russia with Diabetes, a group of
us got together several years ago, to figure out how we could send supplies to children in Russia. Judith Renwick, a member of the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana, knew of Dr. Samual Wentworth, who brought Russian kids to Indiana
to go to Diabetes Camp and supply them with diabetic supplies. Lana also wrote to some folks she knew in Russia and we became aware of Olga, who was in need. We gathered a large collection of supplies that sent over at Christmas of '97. Another collection was made and sent over in March of '98. I have Pictures of the kids who were receiving our donations. The next summer, 13 kids came to camp again and went home with a 6 months worth of diabetic supplies! It was a worthwhile project that many of us were proud to be a part of.
